Legal warranty of good working order
Since October 5, 2026, new laptops and desktop computers sold to a consumer in Québec come with a 3-year legal warranty of good working order, starting on the delivery date.
- It is free and automatic.
- It covers parts, labour and reasonable transport or shipping costs for the repair.
- It excludes normal maintenance and damage caused by abusive use.
- You can contact Informatique Kermit or the manufacturer.
The warranty period is shown next to the price of each eligible product. This warranty does not apply to refurbished devices.
Other legal warranties
The Consumer Protection Act also gives you other free warranties: goods must be fit for the purpose for which they are intended, for a reasonable length of time. They apply to all our items, new or refurbished, including sale and final-sale items.
Manufacturer's warranty and extended warranty
Some products also come with a manufacturer's warranty, shown on the product page. An extended warranty is optional and comes at a cost. It is added to the legal warranties and does not replace them.
Replacement parts, repairs and maintenance information
For devices with a notice on their product page, Informatique Kermit does not guarantee the availability of replacement parts, repair services or information for maintenance or repair. We notify you in writing before purchase, on the product page and in the cart, as permitted by section 39 of the Consumer Protection Act.
This notice does not affect the legal warranty of good working order or the other legal warranties.
